On May 17, 2014, the Thurgood Marshall Bar Association (“TMBA”) and Chapman University will host an event commemorating the 60th anniversary of the U. S. Supreme Court decision in Brown v. Board of Education, in which the Court declared state laws establishing separate public schools for black and white students unconstitutional.

The following distinguished speakers will analyze the historical context of Brown v. Board of Education, how it shapes our communities today, and what the future may hold for the principles underlying that decision:

· The Honorable Frederick Aguirre, distinguished Judge of the Orange County Superior Court and author.

· Erwin Chemerinsky, leading constitutional scholar, UCI Law School dean and author.

· Charles Ogletree, renowned Harvard Law professor and author.
